Q: How do I determine how many pixels I need for a given area?
A: To determine the number of pixels, take the number of inches and divide by the spacing - 2 or 3 inches. So a 2 inch spacing panel that you need to cover an area that is 2 ft wide by 3ft long, it would be (24 /2) * (36/2) = 216 pixels. 24 is 12 inches times 2 (2 feet), 36 is 12 inches times 3 (3 feet).

Q: How do you mount these panels?
A: There is no one specific method to mount these panels. Factors that should be considered when determining how to mount the panels are:

• How much wind load - are these against a flat building or free-standing where wind can catch them?
• Size of panel - as PixNode net is expandable, some panels may be very small or some may be very large
• Cost - customers have used elaborate aluminium mounts or standard 2x4 wood studs
• Mounting substrate - consider how the panel will be mounted - free-standing on the ground? Hanging with a rigid pipe? Attached to a wall?

Possible materials for mounting include (but not limited to):

• PVC Pipe (1" or greater recommended, not recommend for high wind load areas)
• EMT Pipe
• 2" x 4" Wood or Metal Studs
• Custom metal mountings

Q: Can I make a panel larger than the default size?
Q: What if I want a matrix larger than you sell?
A: Yes, a PixNode Net can be expanded to any size. We recommend overlapping one pixel per joint, so allow the loss of one row or column per "splice" when connecting panels. A pixel can and should be placed in the hole of the two overlapping sections. Sections should be then "stitched" together using 4" zip ties using the 1/8" holes between the panels.

Q: Can I paint the panels?
A: Yes, they can be painted and we would recommend using clear or white as your starting point and using plastic specific paints such as Krylon Fusion for Plastic.

Q: If I use all the pixels on the panel (48x24 with 2" spacing or 32x16 with 3" spacing) how do I mount the panel since all the space in the material is taken for the pixels?
A: Our panels are designed to be expandable, so that multiple nets can be interconnected on either side, to make nets of any size. When installing pixels in every hole in the net, this does not leave sufficient space to mount the net properly. Here are our recommendations:

• Make the matrix smaller, either 46x22 or 30x14, this allows for additional excess net for which to attach a frame
• Purchase additional net and extend the lengths as needed to make the net larger in order to provide sufficient coverage
• Use supporting material on the inside of the net, under the pixel wiring, that can support the net and construct a less substantial outside frame (if needed). This will vary by mounting location (vertical vs horizontal)
