Replacing the Output chip on EasyPix Controllers
Product Features
The chip replaces the output chip on the AlphaPix 4 (#722-*), AlphaPix 16 (721-*) and EasyPix (#614) controllers.

IMPORTANT: Check the part number listed on your output chip for compatibility:

  • SN74HC245N

Please note that we highly recommend locating the source of the short that is causing the problem prior to installing and re-testing.

Output chip PCB markings:
  • AlphaPix 4
    • U4
  • AlphaPix 16
    • Bank 1 through 8
      • Chip U7 (Outputs 1-4) & U8 (Outputs 5-8)
    • Bank 9 though 16
      • Chip U9 (Outputs 9-12) & U10 (Outputs 13-16)

This was my first year doing a mega tree and it was definitely a learning experience.  This controller really helped me out because it is very easy to access via the web interface and to LED within the controller box.  My only challenge was trying to get xLights to work with it, but I will admit, it was me and not the controller.  It was nice that it was Ready2Run and I didn't have to learn how to build one also.  My biggest part I liked was that all of the outputs were already up and running and ready to connect my lights to it.  It easily handled the 200 nodes per output.
